Following an early career in manufacturing and supply chain, Ian moved into procurement whilst being involved in some early pioneering work in supplier development and relationship management in the pharmaceutical industry. This opened his eyes to what an incredible source of competitive advantage suppliers can be if you can find ways to more effectively collaborate together and look for mutually great commercial outcomes.
This view drives Ian’s passion for procurement and has underpinned his career to date. Ian’s more recent roles include Global VP of Procurement at GSK, Procurement Director at BP ANZ and is currently GM/CPO for Procurement at Coles Group.
Ian is a proud “Geordie” from N.E England, devoted family man, and crazy about all things sport.
