Phil is a senior procurement consultant/strategic advisor and previously was the Chief Procurement Officer for a large Government Department.
Phil has also headed up large sourcing and supply chain teams for private and public sector organisations while working in Australia, Europe, United Kingdom, Asia and the United States, and also has led major transformations and implementations of procurement technology.
Over his career, Phil has worked in a wide range of industries covering transport, energy utilities, financial services, government, telecommunications, consultancy, FMCG, and retail.
Phil started out as a Contract Manager and throughout his 25 plus years’ in Procurement and Supply Chain for leading organisations, and has experienced and worked through all aspects of the end to end supply lifecycle with experience in such sectors as government, consulting, energy utilities, financial services, and retail.
Phil has a particular interest in driving and demonstrating the value and benefits of procurement including enabling technology, with particular interest in the emerging digital areas such as block chain, AI, machine learning and robotics.
Phil is recognised as a thought leader, reformist and strategist, and believes in raising the image and performance outcomes of Procurement and Supply Chain professionals, and sees digitisation as a key area of focus, excitement and challenge for Organisations and their workforce.
Phil is also Chair of the Victorian branch of the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS).
